Masonry around your basement opening
Coordinate foundation, stairwell, and surrounding exterior work.
Plan Your Project ↗
Start with the existing construction
Show the foundation material, visible cracks, previous repairs, steps, retaining features, and paving near the proposed opening. Finish layers can hide structural conditions, so disclose what is known and arrange the appropriate assessment.
Make the interfaces clear
The window, well, stairwell, waterproofing, grade, and adjacent hardscape need coordinated details. Put the responsibilities for each interface in the scope, especially when an architect, mason, remodeler, and window installer are all involved.
Finish with an agreed restoration plan
Define the limits of concrete, masonry, paving, soil, and landscape restoration. Ask how unexpected conditions will be documented and approved. Retain the relevant inspection and product information with the final project records.
