Approach the window
Leave an unobstructed path from the room to the opening. Furniture, shelves, storage, and window treatments should not prevent someone reaching the handle or moving the sash. Plan that space while the room layout is still adjustable.
Operate the selected window and screen
Ask the team to demonstrate the installed model and its screen. Our inward-opening approach brings the sash into the room, so its full movement needs clear space. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the actual product rather than a general photo.
Continue through the well
Review the well, ladder or steps, handholds, and the selected cover or grate as one route. Learn how the release operates from inside and how the occupant reaches open ground. Ask questions during handover and retain the product instructions.
Keep the route available
Remove stored items and landscape debris from the well and the approach. Check components as instructed by the manufacturer and report changes or damage. A cover, clean well, and maintenance routine each play a role, but none replaces correct installation.
