Why inward-opening egress windows deserve a closer look

Compare the moving sash with the room and the well.

The closed view tells only part of the story

Two windows can look similar when closed and operate differently. Open the proposed model fully and consider the handle, screen, usable opening, and how someone approaches it. Do not substitute frame size for usable opening data.

Keep the well usable

An inward-opening sash moves into the basement instead of the well. An outward-opening sash needs its operating space outside. Review the actual movement alongside the cover, ladder or steps, and escape sequence.

Reserve room indoors

Furniture, curtains, shelves, and other objects must not prevent full operation. Put that clearance into the finished room plan, demonstrate the installed system, and retain the manufacturer instructions.
